Heavy-Duty PTFE Molded Rods | Large Diameter Fluoropolymer Rod Manufacturer
Our PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) Molded Rods are manufactured using compression molding with 100% virgin PTFE resin. Compared to extruded rods, the molding process allows for the production of much larger diameters with balanced omnidirectional mechanical properties and minimal internal stress, making them the premier choice for machining heavy-duty industrial seals and large chemical components.
Ultra-Large Diameters: Available in massive outer diameters to meet heavy industrial machining requirements.
Isotropic Mechanical Performance: Compression molding ensures uniform density and structural strength in both axial and radial directions.
Low Internal Stress: Specially annealed to relieve stress, preventing cracking or warping during precise CNC lathe turning.
Universal Chemical Inertness: Unaffected by almost all corrosive chemicals, strong acids, and industrial alkalis.
Outstanding Thermal Resistance: Performs reliably in extreme operating environments from -180°C to +260°C.
Technical Specifications (TDS)
PTFE molded rods are produced by molding PTFE resin into a preform, followed by high-temperature sintering in an oven.
Performance:
High-temperature resistance—suitable for long-term use at temperatures between 200°C and 260°C;
Low-temperature resistance—remains flexible even at -180°C;
Corrosion resistance—resistant to strong acids, strong alkalis, aqua regia, and all organic solvents;
High lubricity—possesses the lowest coefficient of friction (0.04) among plastics;
Non-stick properties—exhibits the lowest surface tension among solid materials, preventing adhesion to any substance;
Non-toxic—physiologically inert;
High insulation—excellent electrical properties, making it an ideal Class C insulation material;
Weather resistance—offers the best aging resistance among plastics.
Applications:
It is primarily utilized as electrical insulation material, as well as for linings exposed to corrosive media, support sliders, rail seals, and lubricating materials. Furthermore, it is widely applied in the chemical, pharmaceutical, and dye industries as an anti-corrosion lining material for containers, storage tanks, reaction vessels, and large-scale pipelines; in heavy industrial sectors such as aviation and defense; in mechanical engineering, construction, and transportation—specifically for bridge sliders and guide rails; and in the printing, dyeing, light industry, and textile sectors as an anti-stick material. At present, various polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) products play a pivotal role across numerous sectors of the national economy, including chemical engineering, machinery, electronics, electrical appliances, defense, aerospace, environmental protection, and bridge construction.
